There are many tools available to evaluate the global development of young children; however their relative merits and weaknesses are not clearly available, making it difficult for clinicians to select appropriate measures. This teleconference will discuss the factors to consider when determining the quality of measures and their appropriate usages. A summary of a comprehensive review of commonly used measures of global development will be provided, indicating the tools most appropriate for a variety of clinical settings, range of ages and conditions, and different purposes. This review will assist clinicians make informed choices when selecting measures of overall development.
